Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

My son told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home record, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
